MAKING MEDIA - Teamwork Reflection

Making Media is the first course that allowed me to form a team right at the first stage and I found myself lucky to be a part of my group, EMOZI. There were so many problems during 12 weeks and luckily we still manage them well. In the first assessment, everyone had a lot of energy. We went to meetings, assigned tasks, and worked very quickly. All members respected each other's time and thoughts so there was not too much conflict at that time. In the group, Mai Khanh and I are the ones who do the most things. Mai Khanh is in charge of writing content and I do the design. Hien Linh is the leader of the group, she plans and monitors our activities. The other member, Minh Duyen, did not leave much of an impression in my opinion. She also tried but not enough. Ever since we first met, she's been pretty frugal. She does not regularly respond to messages, as well as contributing many ideas to the projects.

In the second assessment, things had changed in a negative way. Everyone started to lose heat when there were so many exercises at the same time and also of the HD mark in the first assessment. We still went to meetings, assigned tasks, and worked like usual but some members began to go late or didn’t even come. There have been some arguments about this between the girls which I didn't know until now. What I enjoyed most working with the group in this second task was when we had our photoshoot together. Although the time was quite rushed, we still had some memories together. From my perspective, the amount of work for the magazine is a lot, especially for the designer. At first, I was confident that I could be in charge of the design alone, but soon I realized that I need some help from other members. Linh was the one who helped me draw the layout for the magazine and made an appointment to meet and edit. On the other hand, Duyen was too passive and a bit careless. She should also be more active and work more frequently instead of quitting class and rest at home.

Doing teamwork is never an easy task. Even though I used to think that my team was so perfect, they can not keep the same energy as the beginning. In my opinion, we still bring a great outcome and follow the plan pretty well. I don't think I would like to be in this team again in the future, but I still like them and respect what they have done for the team.
